Roman Chamomile Essential Oil
Essential Oil, 1/3 oz. bottle
Botanical Name: Chamaemelum nobile
Common Name: Chamomile, Roman
Form: Essential Oil
Plant profile: The “chamomile” is originally from the Greek kamaimelon, meaning, “ground apple.” This derives from the fact that the plant is low - growing and smells strongly of apples. In roman chamomile’s non – flowering variety, this species of chamomile is often used to make a fragrant lawn. The flowers, however, are required for distillation.
The essential oil has a pale blue color due to the presence of a substance called “azulene,” which has anti- inflammatory properties. The essential oil is now cultivated successfully in the UK.
Safety information: no issues with roman chamomile essential oils.
