Only one-third of terminally ill cancer patients said their doctors had discussed end-of-life care, indicating most doctors avoided discussing such issues, a new study found. Patients who had such talks were more likely to avoid costly care during their final days, and their loved ones were more at peace after they died, the study suggested.
