Benzene Levels High In Soda

Benzene has been found in soft drinks at levels above the limit considered safe for drinking, the FDA said. However, U.S. health experts say there are no safety concerns about the levels of the cancer-causing chemicals in sodas. Benzene levels in diet sodas were found to be 4 times greater than benzene in tap water. Benzene can form in sodas made with Vitamin C and sodium or potassium benzoate.
