Drinking a moderate amount of alcohol daily could prevent arthritis, a study by Gothenburg University in Sweden suggested. Researchers tested mice injected with collagen to induce rheumatoid arthritis. They were given untreated tap water or water with 10% pure alcohol. Mice drinking the water with alcohol had a lower risk of rheumatoid arthritis. But arthritis experts cast doubt on the relevance of the result for treating people, BBC News reported.
