Healthy Food Rating System
A healthy food rating system is driving consumers to buy more good-for-you products. At the Hannaford Grocery store chain, foods are ranked from 0 – 3 gold stars depending on variables such as fiber, vitamins, sodium, trans fats and more. Since the chain implemented the rating, the items with healthy scores saw sales grow 2 ½ times as quickly. The chain hopes to expand the idea to more stores.
