The Environmental Protection Agency recently announced regulations to protect Americans from cancer causing chemicals from combustion engine exhausts. The regulation is to take effect 2011. The environmental group, Clean Air Watch, hailed the discussion. The American Petroleum Institute says, the cast is huge, $500 million dollars for refines of Petroleum products warrants further review of the regulations.
The EPA says thousands are at risk from car emissions such as, benzene, acetaldehyde, and formaldehyde, which can cause respiratory problems and cancer.
