Arthritis, Lupus Depression Risk
Patients with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis are often at risk for depression due to body-image concerns, says a recent study.
Because patients with systemic lupus erythematosus – commonly known as lupus – often develop skin rashes and patients with rheumatoid arthritis often have physical deformities, particularly of the hands and feet, they are vulnerable, says the study of 157 patients in the medical journey Arthritis & Rheumatism.
