Plant profile: Lavender essential oil is now widely produced in the UK, southern France, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Bulgaria. Purple lavender fields make one of the most wonderful aromatic landscapes, filled with bees and butterflies busily enjoying the magnificent supply of pollen. Lavender essential oils vary in fragrance according to the altitude where they are produced – high altitude oils have sharper and fresher aromas, and low altitude ones are sweeter and softer.
Fragrance profile: Lavender essential oils are mainly soft, sweet and floral with camphoraceous and pungent notes.
Main Uses: Lavender essential oils soothe cuts, burns, wounds, insect bites, sore skin; eases headaches, migraine, and muscular aches and tension; soothes chesty spasmodic coughs; helps insomnia, nervous tension, and anxiety; useful for both adults and children.
Safety information: no issues with lavender essential oils. Lavender essential oils can be used neat (2 drops on an absorbent cotton pad applied directly to the affected area).
