Orange (Sweet) (Fruit Oil) Citrus Sinensis
Plant profile: Most orange essential oils that are commercially available are from the sweet orange tree, which originated in China. The essential oil is expressed, or crushed out of the rind of the fruit. The bitter orange tree (Citrus Aurantium) produces petitgrain and neroli essential oils.
Safety Information: Orange is very mildly phototoxic; avoid exposure to strong sunlight or sun bed for twelve hours after skin application.
Fragrance profile: Orange is sweet, warm, fresh, and citrusy.
Main Uses: Orange soothes stomach cramps and indigestion (especially in children); rejuvenates congested and slack skin; uplifts depression, mood swings, anxiety, and emotional stress.
