Ylang Ylang Essential Oil (Flower Oil)
Plant profile: From Madagascar, an island off the coast of East Africa, comes the “flower of flowers” – ylang ylang. Ylang ylang are beautiful, lush, golden – yellow flowers with velvety petals produce a wonderful oil very similar to jasmine. There is such a high content of fragrance in the flowers that the essential oil can be drawn off three times during the process of distillation, offering three grades of essential oil. The first collection of oil is known as the “perfume” grade and is the best quality.
Fragrance profile: Ylang ylang essential oils are sharp and sweet, becoming deeply floral, jasmine-like, heady, and soft with time.
Main Uses: Ylang ylang essential oils tones oily and combination skins; reduces panic attacks and stress - related anxiety symptoms; soothes and calms emotional stress and overstretched nerves.
Safety information: no major issues with ylang ylang essential oils. Some individuals find the strong floral aroma brings on a headache.
