Patchouli (Leaf Oil)
Plant Profile: patchouli essential oil comes from India in the form of a thick, golden-brown essential oil with a very pronounced aroma. The leaves of the patchouli plant have velvety texture thanks to thousands of tiny hairs on the surface. These contain microscopic sacs of essential oil, so that when you rub the leaf, the aroma is very strong on your fingers. Patchouli leaves are used to protect cloth from moths in India, and the oil is regarded as an insect repellent. It is also traditionally used in India as a skin conditioner and antiseptic.
Fragrance profile: patchouli essential oil has a rich, velvety, musky aroma that develops spicy, earthy, and sweet tones with time.
Main Uses: patchouli essential oil helps to soothe cracked, chapped, and dry skin and eczema; improves the complexion of mature and dry skins; increases sexual energy and helps to enhance sensuality.
Safety information: no issues with patchouli essential oil.
