Vetiver (Root Oil)
Plant profile: Vetiver comes mainly from Indonesia, where it is known locally as akar wangi. Vetiver is a tough, tropical grass that is economically important to growers. The upper leaves can be woven into mats and fibers, while the aromatic roots are harvested for distillation. Vetiver is also grown on the island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean.
Fragrance profile: Vetiver is a very unusual deep, earthy, smoky aroma, heavy and warm.
Main Uses: Vetiver warms and relieves aches and pains, particularly backache; improves circulations; eases menstrual cramps; helps to ground and stabilize the emotions in cases of extreme stress.
