Turmeric (Root Oil)
Plant profile: Turmeric is a plant that looks very much like ginger, with tall shoots and abundant elegant leaves, and is a member of the same botanical family. The highly aromatic roots are bright yellow and are used to color curries. The roots are cleaned and sun – dried before being ground as a spice or distilled for the oil. India, China, and Indonesia are the main producers of turmeric.
Fragrance profile: Turmeric is a dry, musty, and vegetable - like aroma; spicy and sweet as it evaporates.
Main Uses: Turmeric soothes and eases backache and muscular pains; tones and improves the digestion, easing stomach cramps and constipation. Turmeric is very stabilizing and grounding to overwrought emotions; warms and re – energizes the body.
