Grapefruit (Fruit Oil) Citrus x Paradisi
Plant profile: Grapefruit is a hybrid, which may have been derived from an old variety of fruit called the shaddock. It is now cultivated extensively in Florida in its familiar golden and pink-fleshed varieties. The essential oil is expressed from the peel, and grapefruit has an aroma quite different from its citrus relatives, thanks to the presence of sharp bitter constituents that give it freshness and zest.
Safety Information: Grapefruit is mildly phototoxic; avoid exposure to strong sunlight or a sunbed for twelve hours after application to the skin.
Fragrance profile: Grapefruit is green, bittersweet, zesty, and fresh, with a soft powdery afternote.
Main Uses: Grapefruit helps clear toxins and improve areas of cellulite; eases the chest and breathing in colds and influenza; eases anxiety, depression, and stress, helps to relieve insomnia and disturbed dreams.
