Like we take care of our bodies with a healthy diet and regular exercise, so we should ensure that the products we put on our skin are as ‘healthy’ as they can be. Why use artificial colours and fragrances when we have all of the natural flower and plant world in abundance? Many of today’s modern skin care products contain harsh synthetic ingredients which can strip the skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry, itchy and prone to sensitivity. Kosmea has shunned harmful synthetic ingredients and turned to ancient cultures where plant oils and herbal extracts were used to care for skin at a time when many of today's skin care problems were unknown.
Does Kosmea use preservatives?
Of course we do! We couldn’t guarantee the shelf-life or stability of our products if we didn’t. What we don’t believe in is overusing preservatives unnecessarily. Its not the use of preservatives that is the bad thing – no one wants a product full of bacteria after all – it’s the excessive use of them in skin care products.
We believe in using preservatives at a level that make the product safe to use and ensure you that when you take it home it will not turn stale. We typically use the lowest possible percentage of the mildest preservatives to protect you and protect the longevity of the product.
History
Ten years ago, Marie Jenkins, an unemployed Australian mother of three sold her car to bring the first barrel of rose hip oil into Australia. After researching its extraordinary healing properties, Marie saw an opportunity to import this superior oil and introduce it to her fellow Australians as a skin treatment for burns, scars and wrinkles. Before long, the single bottle of oil was joined by a complete rose hip oil skin care regime, and Kosmea was born.
From that single bottle of oil, Kosmea is now an Australian success story, exporting its range of superior Certified 100% Organic Rose Hip Oil (ECOCERT) natural skin care products around the world.

As a skin care ingredient, rose hip oil is a gift from Mother Nature. It is a natural source of vitamins, including the ‘skin vitamin’ Vitamin A, and has no less than 80% essential fatty acids. What makes Kosmea’s Skin Clinic™ Certified 100% Organic Rose Hip Oil so unique?
Rose hip oil is a unique skin care ingredient and at Kosmea we make a very unique rose hip oil.
We source our rose hips from a certified organic source (ECOCERT) from a region where the rainfall is high and therefore the rose hips are plumper, richer and juicier .
We use both the fruit skin and seed of the rose hip, giving our rose hip oil a high content of the antioxidant, lycopene.
We use the ‘super-critical’ extraction process which is heat-free and solvent-free so our rose hip oil stays just as nature intended.
We do not bleach, colour or deodorise our rose hip oil to make it more commercially attractive as this would deplete the natural goodness of the oil.
