Origin: Earl Grey is black tea flavored with bergamot oil. It is named for Charles Earl Grey (1764-1845) but there are several stories on how this tea came into existence. While Earl Grey tea came from China, the Chinese did not drink it then or now. It is a specialty tea that people either really like or hate – with not much middle of the road.
How to Enjoy: Earl Grey is an afternoon or evening tea, usually consumed hot.
Leaf: a blend of black teas so leaf will vary
Flavor: black tea with a hint of orange, slightly dry
