A survey of 851dermatologists across the country found that the average wait to see a doctor was 38 days with the worst city’s wait being Boston’s 73 days. Researchers said reasons for the extraordinary wait include a federal cap on licensed doctors each year, an explosion in skin cancer in the last couple of decades, and higher demand for cosmetic procedures, such as Botox injections, which net the doctors more money per patient.
